Internet penetration in India grew from just 4 per cent in 2007 to 35.03 per cent in 2017, registering a CAGR of 24.23 per cent between 2007 and 2017. As of December 2017, internet penetration in India\u2019s urban areas stood at 64.84 per cent and 20.26 per cent in the rural areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Urban India with an estimated population of 444 million as per 2011 census, already has 295 million using the internet as of December 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rural India, with an estimated population of 906 million as per 2011 census, has 186 million internet users as of December 2017. There is therefore a great opportunity for increasing penetration in the rural areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Analysis of \u2018Daily Users\u2019 reveal that both in Urban and Rural India, the younger generations are the most prolific users of internet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rising internet penetration is expected to lead to growth in ecommerce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India\u2019s internet economy is expected to double from US$125 billion as of April 2017 to US$ 250 billion by 2020, majorly backed by ecommerce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As ecommerce is growing in India we thought to get youth of India to be part of this not only in buying things but also in selling as well. At ECU \u201cWe Build Entrepreneurs\u201d, so we always want everyone to be stand out independent and become an Entrepreneur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We started studying Indian market and we found Indian ecommerce is mostly based on imported products and Indian ecommerce has more consumers than manufacturers. Indian sellers are also most selling imported items only 10% of over all ecommerce products sold in India are made in India and 90% are imported from China, Europe or US.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the data provided by the statistics,we found following are those Products which are most in demand and selling online in India:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Apparels <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Dresses constitute the largest segment of all products sold online in India. Close to 35% of the entire revenue generated from online sales comes from apparels and dress materials. Apparels include ladies clothes, men\u2019s clothing, and children\u2019s dresses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mobile Phones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Mobile phones are very popular items for sale on eCommerce sites. All brands and models available in the open market are also sold through online sites. For buyers, it is easy to compare among models online before buying a handset of choice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Books <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Buying a book could be really time-consuming if bought from the open market. It is easy for a buyer to locate a seller of their selected titles across eCommerce sites. Educational, fictional, and reference books from Indian as well as overseas publishers are available across eCommerce sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Consumer Electronics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 eCommerce sites are excellent platforms for buying\/selling consumer electronic goods like laptops, tablets, and digital cameras. By 2025 India is expected to become world\u2019s 5th largest consumer durable market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Footwear <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Online is perhaps the best place to search for and buy footwear. The varieties are exhaustive and include shoes, slippers, sandals, and sneakers for both ladies and gentlemen. People get to choose among leading brands from across the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jewelry <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 Buying exclusive jewelry items is often a tough task when bought across counters. The entire process of selecting preferred items and buying from global leaders is done conveniently through eCommerce websites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Fashion Accessories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 It is obvious that after jewelry items, fashion accessories is a popular product category sold online. Cricket bats, tennis and badminton rackets, football and basketballs, carrom boards, football boots, cricket gear, hockey sticks, and so on are readily available online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Baby Care Products<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Baby care items is a huge revenue generator when it comes to online sales. Products like soap, powder, cream, oil, linen, and diapers are sold extensively on online retail sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is very wide range of products which is popular in Indian ecommerce, but the sad part of this is 90% of these products are imported not manufactured in India. We continued our study with Indian Market to identify what is manufactured in India and will be more profitable for Indian youths to sell online and you may not believe on our words but we found <\/span><b>Treasure <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian handicraft is a <\/span><b>Treasure <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of India which no one can take out from India. Art and craft is an integral part of the lives of Indians. Blessed with a rich cultural heritage that is reflected in the intricacy of its handicrafts, India is a true blue shopper\u2019s paradise. Handicraft is about processing materials by hand with hand tools. The results can be helpful things or decorative things. The materials utilized in the product are natural, industrially processed or maybe recycled.
